Newsweek quoted a Ukrainian unit commander with the code name Kach as reporting that Russian soldiers were `afraid` of facing Bradley fighting vehicles provided by the US to Kiev on the front lines.
Kach said that Russian soldiers operating tanks and personnel carriers seemed worried when confronted with the above-mentioned line of Ukrainian tracked armored fighting vehicles.
Ukrainian soldiers described Bradley as fast and `very mobile`, capable of protecting soldiers with heavy armor.
Recent video footage of intense fighting around Avdiivka shows Bradleys inflicting damage on Russian tank groups with their 25mm cannon, which can fire up to 300 rounds per minute.
Bradley is also called a `tank killer` due to his ability to fire anti-tank missiles.
The Bradley can also serve as a troop carrier and can carry seven soldiers across the battlefield.
The Bradley’s enhanced visibility is also an advantage during night raids.
According to open source intelligence platform Oryx, 63 Ukrainian Bradleys were damaged or confiscated by Russia from February 2022 to October 2023.
Forbes commented that the US-made M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle could be Ukraine’s most effective armored vehicle in the war with Russia.
Specifically, this armor can protect Ukrainian infantry from mines, missiles and artillery as well as attack Russian soldiers and vehicles with 25mm automatic guns.
According to Forbes, the 28-ton M2s, with a crew of three, caused more damage to Russia than the losses Moscow caused to this line of armor.
Military experts believe that the M2 Bradley armored vehicle has superior power and combat capabilities compared to many infantry fighting vehicles in service with the Russian and Ukrainian armies.
Expert Mark Cancian at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) called the Bradley a `light tank` that enhances the `land combat capabilities` of Ukrainian forces compared to the M113 armored personnel carrier.
`Bradley withstood every raid,` said a soldier from the 47th brigade who fought in Ukraine’s counteroffensive in Zaporizhia.
Although the counterattack was not as successful as expected, it showed the potential of the M2 armored vehicle, as this weapon showed its durability in the fierce battle between Russia and Ukraine.
Ukraine also found that the M2 is quite easy to repair.
